This report has just come in. Note that the victim was an MG owner.
Hope they catch the scum!
Woman dies trying to stop car thief
The 42-year-old victim, named by police sources as Linda Hankie, confronted the thief after her yellow MG was broken into near her house.
Neighbours of Ms Hankie condemned her killer as "callous" as it emerged she suffered the fatal head injuries after walking to the front of the car parked in Worsley Mesnes, Greater Manchester, on Thursday afternoon.
She was thrown on to the bonnet of the vehicle as it sped off. Police described the incident as "shocking" as they searched for the stolen car.
Neighbour James Gaskell, 60, paid tribute to the "lovely" owner of the car. "She has lived around the corner from me for a few years with her partner. They are a lovely couple."
Police said the woman was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary but later died from her head injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Robert Tonge, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This is a shocking incident in which a car thief has deliberately driven at a woman...
"It's quite a distinctive vehicle so we really need to hear from anyone who knows of this car's whereabouts.
"This happened at a busy time of day so we want to hear from anyone who might have seen something."
The stolen Yellow MG ZR has registration AK53 WNW. Anyone with information is asked to call Wigan CID on 0161 856 7259.

Looks like they might have him already:

What should we do with him?

What should we do with him?
This is the second woman in the last year (that we have heard about) who has tried to stop one of these low-life - the other has ended up wheel-chair bound and the latest has sadly died.
What should we do?
Little we can do, this country has gone to the dogs and the do-gooders will see to it that the punishment will not fit the crime.
Me? I'd want to make doubly sure he couldn't do it again, so it would be either have him swinging from the end of a rope... or very least, the birch.
But obviously that ain't gonna happen!
Only thing you can be sure of is he'll be out WAY before he should be... and, very likely, do it or something as bad, again.
Tragic state of affairs. Needn't be like this.

Would that stop it I wonder?
Fatboy 18 Well it would be one less repeat offender to put up with

Truly awful crime. Do you think computer games are the motivator for some ?
I`m mystified why we have a % of a generation without care or consideration for Lives, others or property. Or have we always had that %
Its a possibility that police camera action programs and Grand theft Auto type games may have a part to play in the grand scheme of things, It makes me sick when I watch the 'Road Wars' programs only to learn at the end of the program the ridiculous sentences passed out by the courts! The kids out there must be laughing their heads off Fatboy 18 Well it would be one less repeat offender to put up with

Sadly with regard to your last comment there seems now to be very little courtesy out there towards each other, we are now a multi cultural society and many courtesies have been lost, I find people generally ignorant and rude. Everyone seems to be 'stressed' Last week I was trying to clear my drive of snow, as local people were walking buy I would say good morning or hello, 9 times out of 10 no one even bothers saying hello or good morning back
It seems as if the whole country has lost the ability to talk to each other IMO Also things like spitting in the street, this is a public order offence! Yet you see people doing this all the time, How often will somebody say 'thank you' when you hold a door open for them? Its all sadly in decline
I believe we need a radical shake up of our whole Justice system, I'm not saying we need to go as far as Sharia law but I would like to see it much much more tougher. If you go to prison as far as I'm concerned you forfeit all your law abiding Human rights, No TVs No game tables, You committed a crime and and you deserve all you get
