Pot Holes

Just been out in the Tuscan for first time this year. Apart from the add patch of slush and monster puddles, there are quite a few new pot holes appeared, so do be careful out there.
Aren’t these motors cars wonderful, dodging pot holes, puddles, snow, controlling wheelspin, certainly wakes you up

Hmm i could rant but will hold back about pot holes where i stay, last year had the record for the most and worst pot holes in the country donkey tracks for roads we have in east ayrshire

i can drive my volvo quicker on these roads than i can the chim.

i was out this weekend and the pothole situation is getting ridiculous now - i'm sure some of them would have actually swallowed the car had i gone through them... lethal is an understatement.

Yup - this little chilly spell we've just had has kicked the crap out of the roads. I reckon the grand canyon has spawned illegitimate offspring just down the road from me.

Phil, i actually think the Grand Canyon would feel slightly embarrassed next to some of the things i saw yesterday!!

I've used http://www.fillthathole.org.uk to report hole before, and the council has been very quick to fill them in.

I think the roads are in a shocking state since the ice, I guess the councils can't be everywhere at once.

Out of interest, what's the probability of hitting a big pot hole and it causing any real damage?

I hit a massive one on Sunday just outside Henley, it really crashed the suspension, but it all looks and feels fine.

Have you checked the sidewall on the *INSIDE* face of the tyre? I hit a pothole a few years ago in the old Volvo and stopped to take a quick look to make sure no damage had been done - wasn't until a few days later I was doing the front pads, took the wheel off and there was a bloody great big bulge on the inside sidewall.

Would have helped if some of the money we spend in taxes had actually found its way into the roadside repair budget to start with.

Already hit the mother of all holes in the Merc. No way is the Tiv going out until the situation improves.

followed a guy saturday who went down a huge pot hole in his 59 Plate A5, tyre popped so i stopped to help/witness and it had cracked his wheel and bent what looked like a wishbone!!!!

I seem to be spending more time looking out for pot holes and less time looking where i am going!!! so if you see a maroon Volvo get out of its way!!!
