Twunts!!! Saving £3m eh! what about the 100,000s of people that see the BBMF every year
What about asking "our" M.P.s to reduce their expenses claims by say 20% that should sort it!

Seems to me that the irradication of our history is on the cards again....

Look - it's the Daily Mail.

They have just recycled one of their normal annual headlines - replacing the words "The Red Arrows" with "The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight".

Like Eric says, it's probably a load of bks. Typical service briefing in the run up to a spending review: threaten to cut a popular display in the knowledge that public pressure will force the government to look elsewhere for cuts.

Regardless of what the Daily Mail says, I think both the Red Arrows and the BBMF are sponsored, mainly by BAE, anyway. The cost to the RAF will be fairly small, especially compared to the goodwill the displays generate.

The Daily Mail is an absolute disgrace as a newspaper.

Their basic editorial stance is - "Bugger the truth, lets just write an article that is sure to wind up the punters".

As it has been for over 100 years - sensationalist that is.

Their all the same, I remember when we gave Prince William a PAX trip in the back of one of the tonka's, the SUN said he had this big conversation with us (the groundcrew - i was one of them) afterwards and that his legs were like jelly, and was the best thing he'd ever done etc etc, which was crap since he got out and just said two words 'thank you', then got in the minibus and headed in.

They just print garbage to get the headlines.
