Does anyone have any useful contacts at HSBC?
Discussion
I'm just wondering who best to write to about the absolutely deplorable HSBC customer service that I've (sadly) grown accustomed to.
The straw that broke the camel's back was yesterday. I went to log on online, and it wouldn't let me. I tried over the phone, and was told that my details didn't match. I haven't changed my date of birth lately. I then spoke to some clown in the Bengal mountains, who said that it was my fault (
). It isn't. I've had this account for some decades now, and have been intimately familiar with my login details as long as the internet has been around. This is entirely the action of HSBC.
Now, the complication comes from me living in the US. I still have a house in the UK, which is my HSBC statement address. The imbecile on the phone told me I need to pop in to my local HSBC branch to fill out some forms. When I repeated where I was currently living (Phoenix), they told me to go to my nearest HSBC US branch. This is in Los Angeles. Much as I'd love a 1000 mile round trip, that (obviously) isn't a viable option. Alarmingly, they didn't understand.
A family member in the UK has access to my bank, and so went to her local HSBC branch, and asked for advice. She was told to tell me to contact 'customer solutions', which I duly did. My 'solutions executive' was some bottom feeder from Hull (I think), who was also of absolutely no use, other than accepting that this is a problem caused by HSBC, not me.
What an absolute disgrace, is all I can think to say. Utterly, uttlerly embarrassing. The most simple clerical problem cannot be rectified because of the absolute ineptitude of this bank its mouth breathers who I have to lean on for support. I am absolutely livid.
What do I do? I can't go to a HSBC branch, but I need online banking. I have a bank loan with HSBC, which I cannot pay without access to my online banking. Obviously, I can't do much else without my online banking support. So, what do I do? Who do I write to to complain? Who do I write to about my inability to pay my loan?
Ideally someone who has the power to get something done, rather than the absolute f
king barrel scrapings who are happy to tell me that I'm essentially screwed.
Thanks in advance.

If customers were lucky enough to experience someone with your attitude, combined with a rulebook which allowed you to use you own common sense, the world would be a better, happier place!
Same goes for all industries.
