Prop hsaft removal without gearbox leaking oil ?

ok cars on the ramp, i cannot jack it up, the shaft is disconnected from the diff how can i remove it from the gearbox and not have oil leaking out the gearbox ??

I'm pretty sure that if the car is level then the oil level in the gearbox is not quite high enough to run out of the tail shaft, though you may lose about an egg cup full.

Just to be sure, have a look and I think you'll find that the filler plug is not higher than the tail shaft. It's worth having a container to catch anything that does come out, and a plastic bag and gaffer tape to wrap around the tail shaft to keep it clean.

Plank (or two) and a jack under the end of the box with the mounts loosened?

Ratchet strap round the chassis rails under the end of the box with the mounts loosened?

when you say cars on the ramp, are we talking proper garage ramps, if so slide the proshaft back into the gearbox and let it dangle there, and with a mate or two, remove gearbox and keeping it level lower to the floor, the prop acts as a bung.
