To splash or not?

Now the snow is going in some parts of the country, should those of us who use our cars daily splash through the puddles to help remove the salt deposits
, or studiously avoid them? 
With all this melting snow there will surely be very little salt left in the puddles, so will a good splash help remove some of the nasties, or should we wait until we can finally un-freeze the jet-wash and the garden hose?
ETA; I'm not suggesting driving through HUGE puddles. I well remember spend advising against that due to the vulnerable position of the air filter!
