I have a number of Canon L lenses and have put UV filters on these to protect the lens. I also have a Polarizing filter (not cheap). These are the only filters I've used to date.

Off to Mauritius on holiday and wondered if it's worth taking a selection of filters. Is this a good idea or a waste of money?

Yes, waste of money. Seychelles is much better.

Yeah - thinking it through, I wouldn't carry anything other than a polariser.

Some will say take a graduated filter for balancing up sky and foreground - but my suggestion would be to bracket exposures and work on them later at home in the processing.

I would say a set of nd grads and mounts.

Don't know if the P size will be big enough (may vignette on wide) but the ones from formatt are around £30 for the 3 ND grads and are apparently a better colour than the cokin or kood (ie no cast). I'm thinking of getting some.
