Hi,

My son is looking for his next car and has narrowed it down to a Huyundi coupe or a Ford cougar. Not knowing much about cars built after 1980 can anyone advise what I should be looking for when buying a Cougar.

Regards

Nick

Check the same things as for a mk2 mondeo, basically the same underneath the skin, so im led to believe.

Cougar isn't a great car - he's better off with a Mondeo ST24 or ST200.

Longer than a Mondeo estate with no practicality! Follow the advice above IMO, although finding clean ones is hard now.

If thats the case go for the more modern Hyundai coupe, i am selling one for a mate on pistonheads, only thing i have found with it is rear leg room is very poor, and his wife says the suspension is to hard (reason for sale).

Advantage the ford has is parts availability and price over the hyundai some parts are hard to get and they are all very expensive.
