The Maritime Alps/ Cuneo

Hi, I have the offer of a job in the Maritime Alps/Cuneo.

Just looking for info if anyone has been there, what's it like, weather, things to do. I don't ski or snowboard YET so looking forward to starting those!!

Can anyone recommend any places to eat/see/hang out? I love mountains so I'm guessing there's PLENTY there to explore. What are the roads like - is it worth taking a car over there for blatting or is public transport pretty good? (that's prob a silly Q to a PHer!)

Any info is much appreciated as I'm feeling a bit worried as the job starts in a weeks time & I only applied yesterday.

As a kid we once drove from Cuneo to Ventimiglia via Limone-Piemonte. I remember it well! The road south of the tunnel at Limone follows a great gorge.

We stopped in Limone as we'd run out of time to reach the coast due to the wet weather - it was a very quiet and picturesque town
