Afternoon all, any video recorder experts on here? I've got a Sony Everio HDD camcorda and have recently purchased a pretty decent roll-cage mount for it. However, I'm having problems recording as, before a minute of recording has passed, an error occurs and the recording is stopped - usually followed by an error message like 'recording file broken' or similar. It's only happening when the camera is attached to the mount on the cage, not in other use, so I have to assume there is an issue with vibration or something? I have sandwiched some foam between the roll-cage and the mount, and the camera then attaches directly to the mount. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks guys.

Yup the vibes always kill them.
I also have a Sony HDD unit and its exactly the same.
Mine won't record to a MemoryStick either, will yours?

You need something that writes to a flash card.
Steve.

Hi Steve, mine has the facility to record to an SD card, is that what you mean? Somebody else has suggested this also.

Hi Steve, just wanted to say thanks for the tip and post this for advice for anybody else experiencing camcorda problems in their car. I have a camcorda which can record to either HD or SD card. I simply could not make it record to HD, the recording file kept breaking, down to the vibrations I would think. But Steve suggested I try recording to SD card and, volia, problem solved! Many thanks!
