I'm not complaining at all smile but I am just interested about the fuel consumption of my E90 325i.

I average 19mpg, mainly commuting.

On my commute I have a mix of country, town and stop start driving covering around 17 miles there and back.

I would have thought 22 - 25mpg would have been around the figure I would average!?

It's a thirsty scamp!!!

Ouch, that's bad, in fact worse than my E39 M5! Would have thought at least mid 20s, but unfortunately don't have any experience of the E90 325i - official consumption should be 27.2 mpg urban, so you must have a rather heavy foot or something is amiss?

My E39 Averaged 16 MPG in Londons rush hour last night. Pretty much all stop start for 2 hours, reset when I filled up just before the motorway, 32 MPG by the time I reached Poole 95 miles later.

My 325i E90 is averaging 31.3 on rural commute.

19 is horrendous.

Is that 'real mpg' or from your cars computer? Check that it's set to UK gallons not US.

We've got an E91 325i Touring (manual). During the week, when the wife is mainly using the car for a short urban trip to work and back, or perhaps nipping to the supermarket, the computer is reporting around 22/23 MPG.

On a longer motorway run, we've seen approaching 37mpg. But that was in quite heavy traffic.

So far, I've not found it quite as economical as my previous car, which was an E46 320 Ci. Quite surprised by this, because the 320 was also a 6 cylinder, only 0.3 litre smaller, and an automatic (which I always thought they were much more thirsty) - However, in that, I had once achieved 40mpg on a 100 mile run from the London suburbs to Dorset.

Next time I have it to myself for the day (which will be a Dorset to London return trip) I'll see how many MPGs I can squeeze out of it. Makes an interesting game on the M3 when boredom sets in smile

I have a fairly heavy right foot but it is bad at 19mpg.

I do actually think the main problem is this

every morning stop start for a good 15 mins!

Yes I am using the trip computers MPG.
