So I went to start the 360 just now and at I knew something was up because the idle sounded awful. Car was very quiet too. Very rough. Then noticed the amber engine check light flashing. When I tried to start it again the starter just cranks and the engine does not start. There is quite a strong smell of fuel too so I think i'll leave it now. Car drove perfectly 2 days ago. Any ideas before I call the RAC?

Cheers everyone!

Speaking from a complete 'unexotic' view here, knackered fuel pump?

Hmmmm. Could be. Come to think of it there is an odd clicking sound coming from the engine bay when you put the key in. Any idea how much fuel pumps are? Thanks btw!

No problem, but bare in mind that is a wild guess! wink

Eurospares could probably get you any original 360 parts, so if it turns out you do need anything, you could probably give them a shout! Other than that, speak to a local indy or main dealer I guess! smile

Hope it gets sorted!

ETA: More specifically, for 360 fuel pumps!

Sound similar symptoms to mine when I had left it for just over a week and we had the really cold temperatures. Had similar clicking but non starting, then rough idle on my 911 turbo too, both times battery was at fault.

I'd try recharging the battery first, preferrably disconnect it and use a charger with a full battery reconditioner mode, rather than just a charger.

If the engine light is on, it should reset it anyway once all reconnected - just make sure you leave it 20 secs or so before starting so all ecu's can talk to eachother again.

My engine light came on when car started lumpy, a few weeks ago ... This was all down to my battery.

Hope you are as lucky and it's nothing more.

Ok car is good now. RAC turned up and it started as normal. He thinks I managed to flood the engine which explained the fuel smell. Apparently it's happening loads now. Having left it a few hours the fuel evaporated and the car started fine. Thank god. Cheers for all the advice. Just took her out for a longish drive and it was lovely as ever.
