anybody venture out today? Popped the griff out for a breath of fresh air, took it to meet me mother in bexleyheath, ran lully on the way from Leybourne, even just about had time to wave at a beautiful tuscan as it flew past me !!
I turned at critals corner so didnt have time to try and catch up for a proper look, shame cos the paint looked really really good...
On the way back I heard a really strange noise, like a bag or something caught in the wheel....turned off onto the M20...had to stop cos it was annoying me. Lifted the bonnett to find a shreaded belt
Only just put a new alternator and belt on in October....need to have a word with the shop me thinks....limped home on 2 strands rolling down hills.....anyway it didnt matter cos the sun was out and me mother was well....bring on the spring.

Only just put a new alternator and belt on in October....need to have a word with the shop me thinks....limped home on 2 strands rolling down hills.....anyway it didnt matter cos the sun was out and me mother was well....bring on the spring.I was planning on getting mine out today, checked the fluid levels, it started first time (thankyou accumate), warmed up nicely, checked fans were cutting in properly etc. Went back to sit in the car to discover all the dash clocks are dead and for the life of me I can't remember if I left the car with any fuel in it before Christmas !! Went to open the boot and the boot release is dead too 
It's now raining so it can wait until next weekend !!

Check that all the pulleys are aligned. My Griff's idler pulley bearing moved forward out of the casing by a few mm and caused the belt to shred.
coeteeh,recieved replacement belt from Keith at Clevor Trevor foc as promised.Oh dear how guilty do i feel, the bearing on the "power steering slave pulley?" was not good, very notchy once i had removed all the bits of belt!
I think it had seized and caused the belt to jump and strip.
New bearing to be ordered and a call to Keith
, even had a cyclist shout nice car!
