Be careful out there....
Discussion
Been out for a short - 25 mile - ride today and the state of the roads seen from the MTB is bloody shocking. Glad I took the MTB rather than the roady to be honest.
Best position was about 3 feet out from the kerb, and also cycling AROUND the puddles as you don't know if there's a crater in there.
Also avoided the on road cycle lanes as, of course, they're all covered in stones.
Also found a few drains with no grates over the top, so a 12 inch by 8 inch holes to trap the wheels.
Reported these to Surrey/Hampshire CC where appropriate.
So "keep 'em peeled" and good luck, especially those who are commuting and will be riding in the dark!

Went out on the roadie today, and the roads in and around Edinburgh are f

Yeah, they are pretty terriible here. At least when I'm in the bike I've got time to see them and avoid them. When I'm in the car with its nice low profile tyres every drive becomes a game of chance. Usually manage to smack the rims off a pothole at least once a week. The town is riddled with them
