Over three emails. Is there a glut of them going around at the moment or something?

One of my wonderful work friends signed me up to a Thai bride dating site over Xmas (because he was bored evidently and picked my works email at random). Since then I get a daily email from the site with various members sending me "kisses" and asking for me to get in touch, I have tried cancelling but to no avail.

I have had 10 kisses sent through so far this morning.

Received bugger all by e-mail lately. No dodgy lottery winnings, no pill offerings, no nigerian inheritance funds. I feel left out...

They're great. Email him back and tell them that you don't have a bank account but will accept cheque or bankers draft.

I had a new one last week - it was apparently from the HMR&C telling me I had a tax refund due to me. All I had to do was give them my bank details ,and all would be peachy!

You'll be suprised how successful these scammers actually are. I was in HR Owen the other day with a few brand new Phantom's being prepared for export to Africa...after a quick chat with staff they mumbled that they are rich internet scammers who often make outrageous purchases with hard cash, and that this certainly isnt the first order of this kind they've seen!
They are untouchable (in a sense that who's juristiction is it to capture/prosecute them from stage 0 to end?).

I'd describe them as fishermen with unlimited free bait and free labour.

Although the majority of us do laugh them off they do capture perhaps one victim in every 50,000 emails? What is the cost for them to fish through 50,000? zero! Win-win situation/business/enterprise for them....!

and I did recieve a similar email to this the other day - and even I who have to sift through 200 such emails per day and have seen it all, was suprised at the professionalism/layout and time they mustve spent on that one....!

That's certainly true, Gulzar.

Same goes for the enterprising Nigerians who manage to "purchase" a load of mobile phones/laptos/electronic gadgets from the unsuspecting fleabay sellers.
Perhaps not so much lately, but there was a lot of horror stories after one fell victim to a spoof payment emails.
