Mates Popup? Where's the drop down list gone?

On the info column, I used to be able to move the mouse over "Mates", and see who's currently online.

Now when I move the mouse over it, it says "Mates popup".

I guess you're tinkering, can you elaborate on the changes? I liked the previous method.....is this work in progress?

Yep! looks like it Steve, just click the popup box and they will be revealed!

I did it just to test the 'I don't like change' reaction

Optimisation. Just trying to squeeze some more performance out of the server. It's not efficient to query that information every time the page is loaded when the info is read infrequently.

I always about the performance impact of that bit.

I'll wait and see how I get on with it.

I don't mind it except I can't click on a mate to go to their profile anymore.
I thought it might be nice to have my mates in a floating separate window but would like to be able to click on them again.

It just comes up with the name.
