I have never been there, but am picking up a new car in Stuttgart and was thinking of a drive over to Prague and up to my usual haunts in Berlin.
Is it worth staying three days?.(am very flexible). if so, any recommendations of hotels/restaurants?. (hotel must have secure parking)........

If you're going that way I's recommend a day in Dresden. The difference between the affluent former west (stuttgart) and the poor former east (dresden) is quite interesting.

Thanks for the info..;thinking of running Stuttgart-Prague (three days there), maybe short stop in Dresden and into Berlin for a couple of days. Will keep an eye out for the cabbies as I will probably just leave the car at the hotel.

The roads are good out there, but you will need a vignette for the Motorways. I would advise a hotel with secure parking too.

Will do. Car is a GT3RS Gen2 which at least has the bloody front lifts on it so I don't lose the front splitter at some steep hotel rampsmile. I drove through Czech in 2006 in another car en route to Austria and recall the vignettes. Austria too.

you dont really need to get taxis around, i walked to most places but the underground system in prague is pretty good if you dont want to walk it.
