exhaust manifold help please

and I need some advice as to where would be a good place to buy a new one and also how much am I likely to have to spend.

Depends on were the leak is i had this on my Chim and no one could weld them i got mine from www.douglasvalleybreakers.com. sent in the post for a bargain £120, if any one can weld them i have two sat in my garage
Hello Rita.I have a 4ltr Griff with a similar manifold dilemma as they are the originals and one has unfortunately developed a crack/split. I have decided that as I will be keeping the Griff forever that I might as well invest in stainless steel manifolds and Y piece to match the rest of the exhaust system. The cost will be about £800 including fitting and vat.It just depends if you are going to keep you pride and joy long enough to make it worth your while.

If you're going for stainless,I can highly recommend the JP Exhaust ones from Tim at ACTYou can see them in my profile pic-the quality and fit are excellent!I know it's not a cheap option but,having seen the setup at JP,I think they're very good value for money.AIMHO of course

Thanks BB - she's only that clean 'cos she's not been allowed to go out and play in the snow like my last griff used to-I must be getting soft in my old age!!
However,she does still go out in all the other variations of winter weather we have all year round,so I suppose I've not turned into a complete wuss!!

You weren't far out with your guess!Prices,incuding vat,for the manifolds and 'Y' piece work out at £893 for stainless or £722 for mild steel.You'd easily fit them yourself in a day(obviously allowing for the usual endless hours of fun getting at the manifold bolts!)
On your car,it should just be a case of a simple swap with no mods required.
Unfortunately,I found out that on later serpentine engines,the swirl tank obstructs the n/s manifold flange
(To be fair,Tim didn't realise this,as all the other 8 bolt manifolds must have been fitted on pre-serp engines)As my car was already booked in for some work at the factory,they very kindly resited the swirl tank for me and adapted all the pipework to fit (for serp engines,to avoid this extra 'hassle',theres also the other option of using the standard decatted manifolds with the new 'Y' piece-both manifolds are shown on ACT'S website)
The end result is definitely worth it!You know it makes sense...
