With respect to the nostalgia thread, it got me thinking that most of the images on the thread were 25 - 30 years old, give or take.

The ideas of the future (now) where good predictions in some cases but way off the mark in others.

What would you predict for around the year 2040?

I predict no internal combustion engines and still really hope for xray glasses!!

My bus pass would be issued in chip form and implanted in my forearm. No PIN would be required which will be handy as I wouldn't be able to remember it anyway.

What would I care?. I plan on being an old curmudgeon and would stubbornly refer to all road based public transportation as a "buses". That hydrogen stuff sold on forecourts would still be referred to a "petrol". I would also flip through my dusty collection of CDs wishing that there was still a way of playing them.

Hopefully, the British isles under 20 ft of water.....its the only way to cleanse this country of all the scum that will/do inhabit this once green and pleasant land !

- Very fast internet on a mobile.

- Family sat nav that will receive latest event info, guide you there and let you know where the toilets are all whilst working out the cost too.

- Massive aftermarket tuning gubbins for hybrids and electric cars.

- All the technology of a top spec Merc S-Class in Fords latest supermini which will be the size of a focus.

No more cash, perhaps an implanted chip.

Still no tangible evidence for evolution.

Still no photos of the luna rovers sitting on the moon.
