Off to New York soon to purchase a laptop and an iPod for half price...

Any considerations I should worry about when trying to plug in over here?

Thanks!

Laptops and iPods should have transformers which will do 110 - 240v. Usually they dont even need switching.

Check warranty as usually they are territorial...

Can get UK power supplies on ebay, or any of the large electronic shops over there will do power convertors for about 8 dollars. Maplin does them here but a lot dearer. I've used one for almost 4 years, constantly powered, not a problem.

Can you really get an iPod for half price? I looked into getting a friend to bring me one back after a New Year New York shopping trip but the price over there was $495 (at $1.75:£1 = £283) then add the 8.65% or so tax gives a total of about £307!

The exchange rate is even better now though so that would equate to £295!

I got a Apple Refurb last week for £340 - and that comes with a 1 year warranty UK warranty - just try to get your US iPod repaired here!
