Simple, two cars with the half white treatment (as per pics of Bug & Aston) turn them round and passers by think you've got more than two in stock

Didn't that happen in F1 about 3/4 years ago. IIRC there was a team wanting to paint its cars in two different colours. They signed up the sponsors and the deal was done before the FIA ruled that the cars had to match, so to get the sponsors the same amount of coverage they did both cars in a 50:50 livery.

yeah it was BAR's first car, they wanted to do one car in their 555 livery and the other in the Lucky Strike colours but the rules said both of a teams cars had to have the same livery so they came up with the abomination above, even the pit crew had half and half overalls. Oh and just to make you fell old the half and half car was from the 1999 season!

I quite like the idea but strange they didnt follow it all the way through, the bottom front lip seems more of one colour and the rear cover at the front of the engine is all blue. Obviously a reason for this though, I just dont know it but i think its quite cool.
