Am planning a little roadtrip to Stockholm this summer.

Has anyone driven up from Hamburg through Denmark to Stockholm? Got any recommendations for good roads, beautiful scenery or places to stay?

Ahh the good old E4 to Stockholm , you will be amazed at how light the traffic is , and at how heavy the Polis presence can be , great wide open roads with nothing but forrest (and Police) for miles

Copenhagen is a must for a visit on your way through
i live in Malmo 30 minutes away from Copenhagen , drop me a mail if you want to drop by for a beer

Have ridden to Copenhagen before now....

Just be aware that the Nyborg bridge is a toll bridge (the only one in Denmark) if you're going to travel along the main route there...

Other than that it's a fairly easy route.

see

for pics of the trip.

? you mean the Storbelt bridge ,, best route is up past Hamberg to Puttgarden 1 hour on the boat to Rodby
then you are about 1 hour or so from Copenhagen

Copenhagen to Malmo you got the Oresund bridge (toll)

My record Stockholm to Copenhagen is 5 hours 5 minutes

5 hours, that's impressive!

I guess you didn't meet any friendly Swedish police that time

I was planning to stop about halfway between Copenhagen and Stockholm on the way up, then drive it in one on the way home.

We got lucky on that occasion ,, when i used to go up to Stockholm on a regular basis it was quite common to get 2 tickets 1 on the way up and 1 on the way home .

I will see if i can dig out a link to hotels in the region there are some wonderful (if pricey) places to stop off for a night.

Im sure the 996 TT can beat 5 hours with ease its all about detrmination after all

No, I mean The Great Belt Bridge at Nyborg that is run by the Storebælt group. (On the E20)

"Stor" is Danish for big or great in Denmark the bridge is called Storbelt because its like a belt holding the Country together.

Drove from Zeebrugge to Stockholm via Copenhagen where I stayed overnight with a friend. Unfortunately Zeebrugge to Copenhagen was all motorway, pissing rain and much darkness - and a near miss when the merc that flew past me on the autobahn at silly speed and aquaplaned into the armco when it hit a large puddle

MS Autoroute didn't know about the toll road I encountered in Demnark so that was a nice surprise Went thru Sweden at 100mph+ almost all of the way, didn't see one police car Lucky in my ignorance I guess...

So in short the roads I took were dull. If I have one piece of advice it's find a route off the beaten track. It's bound to be more fun! But spend some time in Copenhagen, it's a great place

If timing allows I highly recommend the road from Copenhagen to Tisvildeleje via Helsingør.
Great seaside scenery all the way up
