I've received an email from bmi today, telling me about some 'improvements' to their economy class:

No more free food in economy for blue+, silver or gold card holders.

No more business class on UK routes either.

So as a loyal gold carder holder, only flying short haul, I can no longer fly to Amsterdam, Brussels or Paris (also Venice, Naples, Palma gone). I can no longer use my 4 upgrade vouchers per year to bump up to business class, and now I no longer get a free sandwich and drink.

No point staying loyal!

After their attitude towards us and the rest of our flight after abandoning us in Prague a couple of years back they deserve to go under. Funnily enough, that was the same thoughts the check-in staff in Prague had too.

Shame, I was always loyal to BMi, but they've removed a lot of the routes I use, and the others they still run tend to be inconvenient times.

Loss of free sandwich is a bugger though!

I don't understand why they are closing some routes, I fly LHR - AMS a lot and it is always a busy flight, but I shall be moving to KLM I suspect as Bloody Awful charge way too much for the same flight.

The Dublin route only has 4 flights per day now - it's no longer a business route!

BA are offering to match gold status for passengers in Netherlands and Belgium - worth doing!

As I won't be flying enough to renew my gold status this year, I'll be looking to fly BA instead - that free food makes all the difference as I can't claim food on expenses for day trips!
