Oil light coming on

Evening all,

I have a 52 Mondeo 2.0TDCi, that has oil up to the full mark on the dipstick, but the oil light has come on today

Currently waiting for the A to come an recover me, but whilst I am waiting, has anyone experienced this before?

Could it be the sender, the oil pump, or a blockage somewhere?

Had this on my RS, checked the oil and water, started the car let it tick over all fine, drove it home and found it to be the oil pressure switch playing up.

I would change the pressure switch first as its cheap and easy to do if the engine is not excessivly noisey they i would not suspect an oil pressure problem.

Hi there

Oil switch changed, and the oil pressure tested, which was higher than expected (don't know what it was, but 2bar at 2,000RPM is the minimum required), and problem sorted
