Hi everyone - this is my first PH post - Whey!

I noticed earlier today that the combined mpg on my Alfa GT (1.8) is approx 24mpg, and was astonished at how low it was. It would have been around 5k miles ago that I reset the meter.

A typical weeks driving for me includes motorway, city and 'A' road driving which totals between about 250 - 300 miles. I know that Alfa's are poor at the old fuel consumption business anyway, but was wondering what the M Power machines were getting.

Thanks in advance,
BimmerM.

My E39 M5 has averaged about 21mpg since I got it just over 3years and 35,000miles ago. That's over pretty mixed driving.

My M3 Convertible has given me 25.1 mpg over the last 43,000 miles.

I try not to use the car for short journeys since that kills the consumption so have a smart for local trips.

Mine's with 75% motorway, 3 track days, 5 x 250 mile Snowdonia blasts, 5 x 200 mile Peak District blasts.

I think it's the SPECS on the M6 that's brought my average up - although I did find that cruising at 100mph gave slightly better economy than 90mph.

20.4mpg E92 M3, mix of central London, odd M-way, never bothered focusing on economy, except when forced on M1 by SPECs.

22.9 for a Z4MR for last 10K miles or so.

but today with plenty of time to a meeting I stayed on inside lane for 70 miles of motorway at a nudge under 60 mph and got 35.2 mpg with occasional lorry overtake moves.

Bloody amazing that from a 3.2. I've had similar on a return trip from Manchester.

I've managed similar in my e39 528 auto. so treated gently (LOL!) the 3.2 can eek mpg! Boring as feck though! Minor gripe with Z4M is it needs a slightly taller 6th and maybe 40mpg could be possible.

I was also interested to see that damn 25 decrement work to next service/inspection - it always seems to take a huge step down on a normal motorway run, today it was pretty accurate. Better start putting some pennies aside 4975 to Insp. II.

e36 M3 Evo is 27.4mpg average on mine over 4 years. Drove 280 miles last weekend so set the computer for the journey. Average was 30.2mpg and that wasn't driving like I was trying to save fuel. Short journeys then it can go under 25.

19.7mpg for 9,500 miles in E90 M3 saloon manual.

Mixed driving with no attempts at economy driving

E36 Evo manual......OBC says 27.7 for last 34k miles. Mix is loads of very short "cold engine" commutes (22~23mpg) + 600~800 motorway miles (32~35mpg) each month.
