Discussion
Hi all has anyone drove both new/year old versions of the above does the version of the 3 have a softer less crashy ride?(se versions) I flippin hope so.
I love the way a BMW built and their great diesel engines.Problem is the amount of miles I do. I am getting fed up with the crashy ride.
In case you ask im sticking with runflats or maybe will have to move Brand or maybe Alpina D3 BI Turbo. But do fancy the new aluminium 3 ltr engine. Thanks in advance.

My old company had a few 120d SE's, the times i drove them there were ok, cant say the ride is that much better over the Msport.....plus if your covering decent mileage i found them not all that comfortable...im 6ft2 and big build (not that fat) and never managed to get comfortable once, to the point that id take a Golf for long journeys.
I have a 2005 330i se so 17" wheels and run flats. Ride is absolutely wonderful. Test drove a 320d 'msport' on 19" and that was absolutely terrible. Ride very poor and noisy. I think avoid the 'msport' and big wheels if you do miles. The car is designed for 17" wheels and standard suspension, 'msport' cocks it up. Now m division know what they are doing and their cars ride beautifully. M-sport us the work of Satan that looks nice with shocking ride....

David that sounds goodill look forward to a test drive.Stillnot sure I fancy £300 a corner !!!! Apologies for the humour which not all may appreciate, but giving factual dry notes seems a good way to be ignored on thus forum..... I got an 'ok' out of someone and my entire post quoted!
£300 a corner... Should be less but annoyingly more expensive than ordinary tyres I agree. I'm going to talk to me dealer about staying with run flats so I seewhat you mean!
