I am sure lots of shareholders would rather be compensated than seeing the bank piss money up the wall to get some nice corporate hospitality.

Right, so you're suggesting that now the Northern Rock is publicly-owned, that it ceases all advertising?

Does anybody actually take notice of mortgage / building society advertising? Thought most people would simply use a comparison site or IFA and pick which product suited best
