Hi chaps, I'm currently running around in my Dad's old '96 940 for getting to work and stuff. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of what kind of MPG I should be getting out of a 2.3 LPT engine.

I've done 2 full tanks over the last couple of weeks (65 quid a pop) and managed 22mpg on the first (mixed driving) and about 25mpg on the second (all motorway averaging around 70mph). It's done 100k and is well looked after but is this economy a bit on the low side or is it to be expected?

Mine was 20-25 mpg, mainly local driving, i would have hoped for a bit more on a steady motorway trip?

It all depends on if it is man/auto.

Manual should return av of around 24mpg around town and 31mpg on motorway. Auto will be 22mpg/26mpg.

Cheers

PS. My dad had a 95 manual for years!
