Enjoyed the food parts, made me drool some of it and any show about India is interesting.

BUT…was it just me enjoying when Ramsay was being attacked by ants ? I also almost half-hoped he’d be sick and then fall out of the train at one point.
God he’s obnoxious. That part when everyone was relaxing in tribal hut and he has to bellow away saying that everyone is too quiet and relaxed….

You can gain much more pleasure from reading about him in the business pages than watching him on TV these days.

While he's off lecturing other restaurant owners on how to run their businesses or trying to keep up with Jamie Oliver 'discovering' food round the world, his own restaurants are, one by one, losing Michelin stars and/or going to the wall.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Got to the stage where he (and, I'm sure, his advisors) believed their own hype and clearly felt that anything opened in his name would succeed under the 'build it and they will come' principle.

I like him. I think he's pretty genuine for a 'celebrity'. You try getting attacked by ants without being pissed off.

Also a lot of the people he was with couldn't understand a word he was saying so he's right to be a bit frustrated and start talking louder.

I felt ill watching him prepare that meal in that Indian restaurant, what with the flies crawling all over every single surface and food item in the kitchen. Surprised me somewhat that he didn't so much as comment on it though.

I thought it was pretty patronising when he said something along the lines of 'cooking like a caveman' to describe cooking in a pit of hot coals.

Especially as the guy he was with at the time was apparently a very wealthy and influential individual. And probably not leveraged up to the eyeballs and behind with his tax bill.

I used to have a huge amount of respect of Ramsay when he first hit the public conscious. However he now seems to have turned into a parody of himself and is a businessman first and a chef second. Unfortunately, the recent issues at Gordon Ramsay Holdings seem to suggest he would have been better off staying in the kitchen.

Trying second episode.

If they could remove him from the programme, it would be quite good. His oafish cultural insensitivity and all pervading sense of self-importance is grating.

To make things worse, just tried to make one of the recipe's http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/chefs/gordon-... and it didn't work at all ! Ended up too green and tasted weird. If anyone has success with that one, let me know.

I agree, however I love India and like the concept of the programme so it makes fascinating watching for me despite GR who is not someone I have ever watched because I find him just too much. Interesting stuff.

I don't think many of the local folk know what to make of him. I don't think they welcome his swearing. If you've been watching Hell's Kitchen on Mondays on ITV 2, there is a promise of a scrap and it's food orientated in more ways than one. Chef Ramsay has pcensored off one of his would-be chefs and it's now shout"YOU...JACKET OFF...OUTSIDE...NOW!punch The bloke who invited Ramsay to indulge in fisticuffs is an ex US Marine.

Will there be a colossal scrap on the next edition or will we be disappointed because it was all down to clever, dramatic editing? The trailer of the next edition included someone being collared by the local scuffers.

I've seen both episodes so far and will watch the last one tonight. I switched over after the show finished and caught something about food standards , with Alex Riley ( BBC1 I think ) . Gordon Ramsay was on featured as being the face of Booker ( Cash & Carry ) who sell the exact same 'st in a bag' lamb chops he featured on Kitchen Nightmares , slagging the product off and anyone who used them.
