I know a few of you guys are from/around reading, just seen this on the news:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/berkshire/84671...

"The body was found on one of the main routes into the town

A woman has been found murdered on a riverside footpath in Reading.

The victim, 19, was discovered next to the Kennet River, alongside the A33, near the Green Park industrial estate in the Berkshire town on Monday night. "

One of the women I work with said earlier that her daughter went to school with this girl. Such a horrible thing frown

I read that earlier, another 'tough on crime' victim...such a bloody waste of a young life and the sooner these s were hanged for stuff like this the better. I'd even volunteer to pull the handle.

I was hearing this morning that they've arrested a 19 year old bloke, I tend to agree with Nigel, if he's guilty there's no point in him being alive any longer.

I disagree. I think we should do experiments on them.

My first thoughts too as soon as her name was released.

I can't believe anyone would walk that route - it really is a no go area at night.

Wasn't it down a badly-lit riverside footpath where even locals don't walk their dogs when it's dark? Doesn't yell honour killing to me. Could have happened to anyone. I just hope that if the guy they've arrested is the scumbag tt that killed her, he dies of something horrible.

String the fker up by his bks and birch the then hang draw and quarter the bastid!

This is unfortunatley becoming an all too often occurance, we need a deterant of some kind, not this namby system we have now.

What a tragic waste of a life!

It's not just badly lit, it's unlit. As far as I remember the only lighting is from the A33 roundabout above. There is no foot traffic at night, and the noise of the traffic above means nothing can be heard. It is a desolate spot, very close to civilization, but totally cut off from it.

It appears she was walking from her work at Laura Ashley to MacDonalds (it certainly made no sense when first reported she was taking a short cut home!).

I went to the civic amenity recycling centre (dump) on Sunday, juts down the road from there. The place resembles Chernobyl.

Shocking news.

It's disgusting. From what I've heard, the wounds / locations would suggest more than a typical mugging.

This is what the arctic / antarctic was invented for.

No transport systems.
No way to 'leave'.
No way to live 'comfortably'.
No ordinary, decent people to bother.

Ship all the killers, rapists, paedo's, etc there and let them all live together in a winter wonderland of their own making. The liberal 'give them a comfortable cell and a TV' lot could relish in the happiness that they weren't being condemned to death whilst the realists amongst us would know their life expectancy would probably measure in the days.

If these 'settelments' were also afforded the status of not being recognised internationally, the added benefit would be the helicopter tours us regulars could organise with a Barrett .50 cal or M246 Minimi. In the immortal words from Robocop, "I'd buy that for a dollar".

Me for Prime Minister.

Oh yeah, and i'd give the likes of Munir Hussain medals. "Invade my property and I brain you" That kind of thinking is to be applauded and the man needs a homecoming.

Australia was a good idea with just one major flaw: we chose to send the criminals to a better climate (and moreover, a survivable one) than we were banishing them from.....

There's no permission chap but i've always liked the idea of a cult.....
