Wickedsmile
Just clicked on a couple of the others aswell and they are amazing!
When you watch things like that, especially in a funny car, you really do think...jeeees who would want to do that!
Always amazes me with funny cars that they look like they go straight(ish) but then you see the in car stuff and they are sawing at the wheel the whole way down!
Now we just need an incar shot of a aa/fa running a 5 to complete the setsmile

NHRA won't be happy to see that he undid the belts before coming to a stop...

Jim. At that point he realised there was no drama. If there was fire in the windows he would have had the belts undone sooner. You ask any experienced FC driver and they will tell you they do the same.

I am sure they do Bob, but it was NHRA who issued an edict saying safety equipment should not be removed until the vehicle has come to a stop... Obviously under fire circumstances then unbuckling and getting out of the situation is more important.

In my limited, and much much slower, experience you can't get out of the belts and get the helmet off quickly enough after a run. When you turn off at the end of the track it's as if an alarm goes off - you suddenly realise how restricted you have been and you have to get it all off now.
