griff decibel trackday

Does anyone know if my standard griff 500 will be over the 101db level for a trackday on saturday at bedford? If so, how do I get it below cheaply without spending any (much) money??
Any advice will be appreciated

I`d have thought you should be okay, you need to speak to Bluebottle and Guillotine on here, they probably spend more time on track than most, so should have a good idea

My standard Griff 500 tested at aprox 97db at 4,000 revs. I had it tested at a sprint a few years back. You should be fine.

If you're standard you should be okay. If not Merlin and ACT are just two of the many who offer track day silencers: Merlin & ACT.

As others have said, If your system is completely standard then 94-98Db is the norm.
If you have removed the pre-cats, this can up the sound a couple Db's.
If you are fully decatted or have sleeved/cherry bombed the rear box you will most likely be over.
Mine started out life at 94Db stock, but is now 108Db. so i have to use track day cans which clamp onto the tail pipes. My set get me just on the 100-101Db bubble.
ACT, Merlin Motorsport & TVR Carparts all sell cans and they are all around £100 a pr.

My standard chim 500 was 96db, so you should be fine

a std RV8 cat car should be around 96 db...if the exhaust box is good.

to be sure, these made for the job inserts will drop 5-7db.

If you can get to a Trackday / race meet before hand, they'll noise test you for free.

As stated on the monster website this type are acceptable at the Ring. I have the ACT/Merlin type cans and they wouldn't allow me on track last year as they stick out (that'll teach me for following Dave Reddon thru the toll booth when he's giving it beans )
