The home desk top has been playing up.

Just discovered that without IE - works perfectly and like new.

With IE open or working, works like a Spectrum (if you need to ask, dont! smile)

HAve tried deleting and reloading IE but hasnt made a difference....

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, google Chrome or Firefox. Scan for adware too (something like spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html will do)

sounds like and addon issue

Is is IE8?

Start ie without addons (start programs/accessories/system tools/ ie no addons

OR
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff in command prompt

OR run up IE and manage addons and disable all addons, exit Ie start it up again and see if that solves it.

If so then enable each addon until the problem comes back and narrow down teh add-on.

FWIW it is probably google toolbar;-) a fine POS

Install Chrome

http://www.ccleaner.com/download

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Start-Run-MSCONFIG to ditch the crap that starts automatically when windoze starts up.

Forget you have IE installed
