Odd request here, but we don't have sky and the aged inlaws do. They dont use it and when we visited at Christmas it had a grand total of '0% used'.

I'd like to get them to series link '24' so I've got something to watch when I go and see them, but they won't know how to do it, and I doubt I could tell them over the phone, as it would be trial and error for me as well.

So...

Can someone please post some simple step-by-step instructions for series link recording, so I can phone them up and get them to do it?

Thanks!

Big Al.

They need to find the prog on TV guide when found press the record button an R symbol will appear by the side of the prog.

If they then go to planner there "SHOULD" be an option to select a series link this is accomplished by pushing the green button a green up and down arrow should appear against the recorded prog.

Not all progs will allow serial links.

All channels

(navigate to time of the program)

R button for record

Now TV Guide

red button for planner

highlight '24' with the curser (should be anyway as its the only one)

green button for series link

done

If it's "ordinary" Sky+, I think Daniel's guide above is right (from memory).

If it's an HD box, you are asked when you click to record a show whether you want to record it once or record the series.

Let's hope that they don't have the quirk I used to have with my old Sky+ which consistently told me that the series information wasn't available when you tried to series-link something. Frustrating as hell....

(If they do get that, quit out of the planner back to TV then return to it and try again - it usually worked for me)

Brilliant - thanks for the assistance. I'll look forward to watching endless loops of Delia Smith or whatever they accidentally record instead of 24 wink

Actually, there is an iphone ap for sky+ isnt there? I might just set that up and take control of their box that way...

It is. I have remote record on my Nokia 5800. Handy if you are out.
