Service history, Can anyone help
Discussion
Hmm, dealerships. I walked into my local BMW dealer 2 weeks ago, after being quite a regular visitor over the last year for parts giving them quite a bit of cash, their service person told me that he couldn't give me the service history for my car (even thogh i explained that i knew it was in the dealer network up to 100K miles)
He choose to then print out the BMW uk service number and told me to call that.
I know dealers can access this data, and if i had just walked in off the street, first visit asking for free info then i could understand the refusal, but i was sat in front of him with a bag full of parts i had just collected from the parts dept 2 or 3 desks down from him.
I obvoiusly didn't look rich enough, or grovel close enough to the ground, or because of his own visions of self importance.
Hardly good customer service.

Call the number below and they will tell you of every visit that the car has been into a main dealer. They will give you the dealer name and the telephone number. Then call the various dealers and get the specifics. I've always found BMW to be very helpful in this regard, both HQ and dealers. Porsche on the other hand "PIA"
BMW web site says:
"Should you wish to obtain details of a vehicle's specification, or information on the visits to a dealership of a particular vehicle, this is only available by calling our dedicated team on: 0906 209 0001 (Calls are charged at £1 per minute). Lines are open 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Calls may be recorded for training purposes"
Don't worry too much about the £1 per minute as the calls only take around 3 or 4 mins. Small beer against the cost of buying a car and getting the full history.
