hey, ive bought a 28cc 2-stroke engine and i was wondering if u could use deodorant as 'quick start' it has a plastic inlet on the carb and the rest is aluminum. I dont want to conserve the engine as it has no purpose, but i dont want to blow it up. It's just a thought of it as something quick to try out.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards, Joe

when I was at school, me and my mate set up a 50cc 2-stroke engine in his bedroom to see what it would run on. It went well on lighter gas and smoked a lot on WD40 but we didn't try deodorant!! good luck with that.

When I was in my teenage years myself and friend borrowed a bottle of whiskey and managed to start a KX125 on it, it ran and then siezed! great smell though!

No, i wouldn't recommend deodorant.....

either, easy start as previously recommended ....or, simply pour some petrol into the cylinders (via spark plug hole) it may cause flooding at first buy keep the revs open full for start up and you should succeed and fire up.

alternatively disk brake cleaner is a good one also into the cylinders like the petrol. its slightly more flammable and will not evaporate as fast as petrol.

Fecking hell don't use brake cleaner, some formulations decompose into phosgene when exposed to heat!

Use Lynx. You'll end up getting far more than 'two strokes' from the legions of ladies you'll undoubtedly attract...

No dont use brake cleaner, lots of them contain a carbon-tec type substance

carb cleaner will work however but there wont be any lubricating properties in it

soon seize up I reckon
