Anyone got a 1.4 K-series kicking about?

Hi all
My brother did something silly recently, he went out and bought a car without me! Fast forward 4 weeks and a serious knocking noise has developed, diagnosed by a mechanic as major engine failure. A friend of the family (mechanic) has suggested he'll help us do an engine swap for a couple of crates of beer, so all we need now is to find an engine.
My poor little brother is really limited on cash, after using everything he had spare to buy the car for his partner to run my 6 month old niece about in. So i thought i'd ask if any of the oily hand brigade in the midlans had a k-series kicking about that they might let go for a cheeky offer.
The car is a 51 plate MG ZR (105) if that makes nay difference.
