I'm sanding varnish off a glazed panelled door right now and I must have touched the glass with the head of the sanding bit on the dremel. banghead

I hve some light 'whorling' (if that's a word) running parallel with the edge of the pane - is there a straight forward way to polish this out or do I have to live with it?

I know there is a cloth that is used to polish watch faces but not sure if these are readily available, where I would get one from and without knowing the name, Google isn't my friend...smile

Thought about a CD cleaning kit but not really in the mood to start experimenting in case it gets worse. I could certainly live with it as is, to be honest.

Any ideas?

Are you thinking of jewellers rouge(sp)?
I used that many years ago to polish out scratches on car windows - just went into a local independent jeweller and got a bit for a couple of £.

My detailer mentioned to me its quite a skill to polish glass correctly, you have all sorts of dangers asscoiated with the heat build up etc.

Cerium Oxide is the stuff - you used to be able to get a kit from Screwfix.

General rule though is that if you scrape a fingernail across the scratch & its deep enough that you can feel it/the nail catches , then its too deep to polish out with C.O.

Thanks folks. Will take another look tomorrow when I get all the dust cleared away, then see if it worth buying a kit.
