Am moving there next month - will it work OK on US voltage? Or do I have to bin it and get a new one over there?

Just get a US spec power brick if need be, but a regular pin adaptor should be all you need. Don't bother packing the Scart bit though as that will be useless over there. hehe

Your main question should be,

'Will I be able to migrate an XBox Live account to a new country?'

At the moment, the man from Del Monte, he say 'no'.

As long as you're happy playing UK/Europe region games in single player, you'll be fine.

Check the back of the Xbox 360 to see what voltage it will work on. If its just 240V then you'll need a power transformer to step down the voltage. If it supports both 240 and 110 then you should just be able to put a plug convertor (UK 3 pin to US 2pin)

(I used to live in California and had to buy a couple of these transformers to get my UK electrical kit to work.)

Your UK games will be PAL format, so wont work with NTSC US TV's unless you get one that supports both PAl and NTSC (Fujitsui plasmas do this).
Your won't be able to buy US Xbox games and run them on your UK console (Region 1/2 issues)

Good luck, and enjoy (whereabouts you going btw?)

Well the time has come for me to leave the UK - and have decided to take my Xbox with me primarily due to having bought a load of games recently that I haven't had a chance to play, most notably Mass Effect 2 which I want to carry my save games over to.

The power brick says Input: 200V - 240V - 2.7A, 47-63Hz. I am guessing the best thing to do is buy a new power brick when I am over in the US?

Not true I'm afraid.

My account was set up in Hong Kong, works sort of fine in Australia.
But with down sides:

- the dashboard is HK,
- cant update account details to Australia
- cant change HK CC to Oz CC
- cant use Oz CC to renew Gold or MS Points

May sound pants and I suppose its not ideal, but I just get the appropriate gold and points cards from play-asia.

ETA: He'll still be able to play his PAL games in his PAL 360 online, I think, perhaps maybe not Army of two

I took my 360 over when I moved to NYC in 2008. With just the plug adapter, the measily 110v wasnt enough to power the xbox. It just came up with a red ring error (not rrod). If you are over for a long time and have a number of electronic items, then might be worth investing in a power invertor/convertor. About $100 should get you a fairly heavy duty one which will easily upscale the 110v to 240v. Bonus is that if you buy any electronic items in the US and return to the UK, you can use it to downscale the 240v to 110v, etc..
