How do you take the roof off a Griff? I have the S&D two piece conversion if that makes any difference.

Pop the struts at the back and lift off.

Sonic.. Thoes two piece roof things are a big problem... To help you out I'll swap you my one piece as these are much easier to remove... ;)

OK - piss taken. Now then..

As said above.

Grab the silver struts behind the seats and pull firmly towards you. They should fold in half which loosens the rear part of the hood from the hard part.

My technique, such as it is, is to pull the velcro back on both sides of the rear section and then drop that making sure that the flexible rear screen is not creased. Some people pop a cloth in there to stop the surface of the screen scratching itself. Pulling the velro away allows that section to collapse more. The rigid section(s) will still be supported in the front screen rail.

As it's a split roof you can then remove each section and put it in the boot, obviously being split also means you don't need the usual technique to stow the roof.

Refitting is a reversal of that process.

..but then again, by now they've forgotten how they got the roofs off in the first place anyway

I always suspected that most of the Griffs are driven roofless because the owners still hadn't figured out how (or were too stupid) to put them back on

Nah, They left the roof at home cos they couldn't figure out how to get it in the boot with the spare wheel...
