Why do people put so much shite in the loft?
Discussion
I'm in the process of putting more insulation in the loft of my 1880's house.
The amount of crap, boards, carpets, I have found up there, none of it mine, is a pain in the arse, and slowing the job right down. No ancient porn stash or money either to be found!
Why do people keep this s
te?

Please note, I do not read the Daily Mail. It was the first result that came up on Google.

I bought a victorian house 20 yearas ago, and there was a telly in the loft that was to big to fit through the loft hatch.

It's probably still there...
There was a spate of incidents back in the 70's where this became a phenomenon.
It's probably still there...
I believe it was put down to teleportation by scientists.

I tried to get rid of some of my BF old clothes the other week , he would not have it , real 80's stuff, so a space bag has now been filled and still waiting to go up there.
Might just bin it !
Off-topic slightly...Might just bin it !
Men just don't throw clothes away. Ask my missus, she got annoyed with me because she bought me a pack of boxers to replace my 'quick exit' (read: ripped at the seam) pairs but a year on and the old trustworthys are still going. Oh how she scorns at me.mitzy said:

When i helpped my parents move a few years back they took things out of the loft that were still boxed up from when they originally moved there 25 years ago.
Did they open them up loooking for long forgotten family treasures? or just throw them away? Nope they stuck them straight in the loft of their new house

The boards were probably there so that you could walk around in the loft without falling through the ceiling
The amount of stuff in my parents' loft when we cleared out their house when they moved was ridiculous, and half of it wouldn't seemingly fit through the hatch without a hatchet job.
