Tertre Rouge -Numbered pitches

This year we seemed to have booked too late for our usual Houx spots and will be at Tertre Rouge instead.
I've been told there's numbered pitches similar to Houx, can anyone please confirm?

And are the showers & WC's portacabin type, or are they 'hole in the floor' French type !?

Is this for the 24hr or the Classic?

I stayed there in 2008 for the Classic but there werent any numbered pitches then, maybe doe to the fact the whole place was for the Triumph Club.

The showers were in portacabins and prtty good.

I thought it was a great site and better than Houx.

Its all fenced off and has security on the gate and you are only about 20 yards away from having great views of the Porsche Curves.

Through Bino's I take it or in a Helicopter?? There's no way i could see all the way from Tetre Rouge down over the camp sites to the Porsche Curves on the other side of the track down past the start finish straight!

Tertre rouge is as the name suggest just before tertre Rouge corner and no where near the porsche curves, it is the most expensive campsite due to the high level of security, and the facilities.

For the main 24 hour the showers/loos are usually in two blocks at each end of the campsite and are a good as any you will find at Le Mans, the pitches are marked out but you can choose where you camp, if you want you can overlook the race track or against the motorway wall (quieter and still only a few minutes from trackside). You can have electric connections if you take cables etc and risk the mess at several main connections.

Security is tight when you arrive the first time they let you in but after that each person is given a ticket each time they leave and this will get you back in, no ticket no entry. This means that only campers can use loos/showers and although you are right by the race track tents/gazeboos etc are relatively safe.

Best arrive before Thursday as campsite starts to fill up from monday and no reserve space, if you get there on friday expect to be camped in less popular spots.

Most people there have used TR for many years usually tickets are harder to get than hens teeth so you are lucky

I asked that very question when I booked our tickets and was told that they wouldn't be numbered this year. They do have the individual pitches marked out though so it's only a matter of time.

Lets hope that they never number the pitches as some would be solid concrete others behind the loos, other under pine trees that weep sap in hot weather and others a collection of stumps. However some are perfect with good views flat soft ground and sheltered and almost all have good drainage, if you have been in recent years you will know how important that is. When it rains at Le Mans it pours and the higher the ground you camp on the happier you will be, and TR is the highest point on the circuit.

Sorry, I meant up towards the Dunlop Bridge!

There is a big bank just across the entrance to the campsite which is a good viewing point. Its also only a short walk to the corner leading onto the Mulsanne.
