Aim at the side, so minimising the angle so you hit it at a really shallow angle. It will then 'swirl' around the wall to the bottom.

Some places I've been to in Europe have urinals with a small fly image stuck to the right target point.

I used to work for an IT company who kind of competed with Microsoft. One day someone stuck one of those 'Windows Inside' stickers in the urinal. It took a lot of pleasureable pi55es over several weeks to get it to unstick!

Try using a urinal wearing short shorts (e.g. running shorts).

You will likely discover that splashback is impossible to avoid, regardless of technique.
