Yep, you read that right, £20m, seven months work, "ratings slump".

Capitalism is supposed to reward success and punish failure isn't it?

This thread would be better off in the finance or news sections but I fear it would inevitably be moved to obscurity here anyway...

This is rewarding Conan's lawyer's success and NBC's executive failure.

I may have the wrong end of the stick here, but wasn't it Lenos show that failed spectacularly, hence him being put back on the tonight show. In which case it's perfectly fair for Conan to receive his full paycheck, wasn't his fault.

To be fair, Conan and his staff all relocated from NYC to LA, only for them to get dumped for Leno 6 months later.

Thats how I read it.
It's more like Leno's show doesn't "fit" the early timeslot and Conan isn't doing as well as Leno did at the Later time slot.
