Can those of you that have experience of driving through the Alps tell me how you manage your fuel?

I am planning to drive from from the UK doing the great mountain passes all the way through to Venice in my V8 Vantage. Are the mountain pass runs short enough for me to be able to get through without running out of fuel before hitting a petrol station?

Cheers,
Ian

What's your expected tank range?

Or do you mean you want to drive all the way from Dover/Calais to Venice without stopping? hehe (Actually I guess you should stop just before Venice if you don't want to get to wet.)

And more seriously, I did several bike tours in the period 1988-1996. I cannot remember ever having an issue, even on a bike with only 130 mile range.

We didn't have any issues and there are plenty of petrol stations in unexpected places round there. The end of the San Bernadino pass for example! We just filled up in the morning and went rather quickly from there!
