Seeing all the hassle caused yesterday in Aberdeen do you think you could have a major terrorist campaign in the UK shuting down loads of towns and airports with nothing more then some random bags and some marzipan?

Terrorist campaign with no bombs? It's called the government.

When were the last bombs in this country?
Is the campaign still on going and are we being restricted and people in fear because of it?

That said an attempt at a bomb every now and then doesn't hurt to remind people but even some idiots getting arrested or dodgy looking bags left around the place will do the trick.
Ok I agree the anti-terrorist services etc might have prevented a million and one bombs going off...we don't know, and as we can't be told the terrorists seem to be doing just as ok.

There seems to be enough fear in the public and Government that perhaps a canny terrorist could push a few buttons in the right places and cause just as much trouble!

It would appear it's possible!

I'll throw another one into the mix. I don't understand the need for bomb making at all. Guns are widely available on the black market - why don't they just take a few guns and go on random Hungerford-a-like killing sprees?

It would certainly put a cat among the pidgeons.
