OK Fellas

On inspection, there is power into and out of the park switch. I have changed the terminals, but still the wipers won't work. So now I'm only left with the possibility of a broken motor.

Does anyone know how to disconnect the cable from the motor, as it's seems nearly impossible to disconnect it at the wiper arm end?

If you mean how to disconnect the motor from the wipers, its a bitch. I'm assuming you have the Lucas style wiper motor in the engine bay.

The cover of the motor is retained by a number of 1/4" bolts. Some of these are under the bodywork, you need to unbolt the wiper motor retaining strap and wiggle. The really inaccessible one will need a spanner rather than a socket, and a fair amount of patience.

Once you get the cover off you should be able to disconnect the wiper arms, the end is located on a peg. Be careful not to disturb too much in there while its apart. If I remember correctly you will need to lift the cam arm carefully to disengage its peg from the cable end.

If you need a new motor dont bother to remove the drive cable as the new motor comes with it !!!!

changing the complete motor and drive cable is dead easy...

1) undo clamp holding motor in place
2) disconnect electrical connection
3) remove wiper arms
4) undo nut that connects the motor to the drive cable outer
5) pull motor and drive cable out.
6) put the end of the new drive cable into the outer and push it all the way in
7) do up all the nuts and bolts...

took me about 10 mins when mine packed up,

got the motor from peninsula on next day

Cheers
