Blue Nord camping at lemans classic

Hi all ,what is the camp site like at blue nord,showers,security,etc.

Was there for the 24hrs a couple of years ago. Bigish site, first time we had encountered marked out pitches. Toilets and showers good, more or less enough to go round (in other words queues not too long). Very easy to get into circuit from there, a 5 minute walk gets you into a gate adjacent to the run down to the Ford chicane. We were up against the fence for the "International Airport" so good for planespotting if that's your thing. In Blue Sud this year.Locals turn up Sunday evening in force to collect what's not bolted down.

Regarding the Main 24Hour event..

Does that campsite generally have wide 'driving & walking' paths between the pitches?

Previously in Houx, we've Managed to park our cars on the edge of our pitches and used the pitch area for Gazebo ,seating & bbq without blocking anyone , very handy!

Never seemed as full as BSJ, for instance, but it doesn't seem to me that you can get more than a car and a tent onto your pitch, certainly not on the sites we've been on in recent years (we do have a biggish tent though). Before they started marking out pitches you more or less grabbed what room you needed, and then some. I'd imagine that if you want more car parking you would need to book more than one pitch.

first time for in Nord so good to hear info
Our usual places in Houx were always marked out, (as long as i've been going) but the gangway/throughfare campsite roads between the pitches are at many places, wide enough to park along the edge of your camp pitch therefore giving you loads more space in your pitch area without blocking anyone.

After once having our tents soaked by somebody who didn't think where the water was going to go from his 'olympic size' paddling pool when emptying, we switched to reserved space campsites! He also assumed every tent around him would leave when he did, on a mad Sunday afternoon dash...doh

You can only take one car for every camping ticket so if you have more than one car you will need more than one camping pass.

one camping pass per car is needed to gain access to the campsites.

Pitches are normally 5 metres wide x 7 metres deep i.e. enough for a car and a tent (although that really depends on how big your tent is!)

The group I go with park all of the cars on a couple of the spaces and then put the tents next to each other on the remaining spaces. Usually leaves enough room for a communal area under a gazebo in the middle of the tents. As long as you do not exceed the outer edge of the pitches in your group you can set them up however you want

We were on BSJ last year and directed to a pitch opposite a wire fence so found a bit of extra room on the verge for the car. Also, French tape measures would appear to be a bit shorter than UK ones and we found an extra metre or so each way (oh, and then we had to line up our pitch with next doors, whose tape we borrowed and gained slightly more that way....it had to look tidy, didn't it). Will be taking our own tape this year!

Exactly.That's what we we doing for years!
One car & tent per pitch is the norm but how you use that space is up to you. The point I was making is that there are sometimes a few 'open areas' that are not marked out, so we use those for parking and leaves more room for bqq. As long as youre not in someones space or blocking a thru route, the 'campwardens' have never had a problem with it.

When we were in Bleu Nord (2007?) they were insisting on keeping fire breaks between each row, which meant there was room to park outside you alloted area, but there was a chance they'd come along and make you move the car. Don't take the pi$$ and it should be fine.
