It's easy to be an anti-capitalist lentilist when you have £100 million in the bank.

Bono should try paying tax - he'd find it, erm, liberating!

And choose your home country based on the tax bill you will face.

All I want is hypocritical lefty celebs to put their money where their mouth is before spouting off about the collection of taxes, who should pay taxes and where taxes should be spent (specifically arts funding and overseas debt forgiveness).

Quite, but at least he's a 'hurt' wker:

"U2’s lead singer, Bono, has been “hurt” by claims he is a hypocrite for agreeing to move part of the band's business to the Netherlands to avoid paying higher taxes in Ireland.

Oxfam, Concern and many Catholic missionary orders claim that U2 has deprived Ireland of much-needed revenue for social services and overseas aid. "

Many of the 'artists' are full of st. Take for example all-american boy Bruce Springsteen and his Takamine guitars, Born in Japan!

America is the home of the steel string acoustic guitar, it's a bit ironic singing songs that touch on the decline of American industry if he chooses (for commercial reasons I'm sure) to endorse a foreign made instrument when he could just as easily (though it would cost him a bit of money I expect) play an American one such as Martin or Gibson. Takamine know what they are doing when they pay him to use their guitars.

I'm sure Bruce can afford a $2000 Martin, and probably owns several, but he just prefers to play a Takamine on stage. I don't that's totally hypocritical. Several other notable US artists (Eagles' guitarist) use them as well, so it's not just 'Born In The USA' Bruce .. btw that song isn't about what everyone thinks.

He prefers it because he's paid to prefer it.

This is not a shock. THe same way that millionaire Labour MPs want everyone else to pay more tax, but strangely they still avoid their taxes....
