Anyone interested in joining us for the 2004 porsche 924 championship?

Cheap as chips motorsport, 2-3 k gets you a fully preped car for starters. Not many mods allowed to the engine, but with an all up weight of 1000kg with you on board it makes things a bit more fun. One set of tyres should also last the season.

Major cost of the season is entry fees about £200 per race, of which there are around 15.

Last year we had one of the largest grids of any championship with over 20 cars per race, with all the racing being very very close.

So dust off that crash helmet, or take your AARDS test and come race a Porsche, not just drive one.

For more details try www.porscheracingdrivers.co.uk

I am a competitor in the series and am not involved in the organisation or preparation, so before anyone asks this is not a disguised advert.

That does sound excellent value. First time racers may also like to look into the Caterham Academy, which has become very popular for good reason. Our very own Peter964rs-hasgone is doing it this year. Best of luck to him and d5hef.

Don't forget the TVRCC Challenge Cup for a way in motorsport. Probably a bit more expensive than the Porsches (maybe a bit cheaper than the academy though) but great racing, friendly atmosphere and quality cars.

Sorry for the hijack

Good luck this season d5hef
